Summer 2011 (Part 1)

2011 Summer vacation was one of the best! we enjoyed every single minute of it...I had almost 6 weeks off, so we spent the first 2 in our beautiful condo in Cabo Negro, then we went to Marbella, Spain for another 2 weeks. Ramadan was only few days away!!!! so we decided instead of going back to Casa and since I was still off, we would spend the remainder of the time again in Cabo. It was the best decision! The weather was still great, cooler than Casa of course and it was not as crowded as it used to be in July! The kids would spend the whole day swimming and playing while we are laying down on the poolside. I was lucky to have our maid with us helping cooking and cleaning. Around 5 o'clock we would go to the beach for a cool and refreshing Mediterranean dip....Ohhh it was wonderful! After that we go back home for a yummy meal....

Back to School 2011

Another school year starting for the Twins and in a different school. There’s nothing like it!

Our summer was SO incredibly packed with nonstop fun, Ramadan...moving at a very high speed! I am SOOOOOO ready for things to slow down a bit and to get back into a routine.

Few days before school started , the kids and I took a trip to their new school and got to meet with the teacher and her assistant.They both seemed very nice ladies!

This year I decided to put them in the same class for the first time since they were 2. I thought I will try it and see how it will work, plus the fact that they were going to a new school where they have no friends, I thought they would keep each other's company until they make new friends. Will see!!!!!

Their teacher gave a riddle whcih was the class name and we had to find out the answer. But we got even fancier and displayed it beautifuly like that.

I love this age- and all of the new things that they are learning. It is incredible. My babies are growing up!

Radya lost her 1st baby tooth

The Excitement started about 2 weeks before when she felt that her tooth is loose and moving. I was scarred at the beginning and thought she might had fallen, or her brother pushed her against a wall...
Guess I was just thinking they were too young, so I wasn't looking for it?
She was very proud when I hugged her and explained to her that she is a big girl now! It was still Ramadan.....
Later we went up to Cabo Negro for our Eid Break, while we were enjoying some tea and cookies with family, she started yielding and saying "Mama, J'ai perdue ma dent!!!" everybody started cheering her and clapping...She lovedf it!

Cannot stop showing it to everybody, she even called both her Mami and Oumi to share with them the good news

I told her that when we go back home she should put her tooth under her pillow at night and tooth fairy will come by and leave a gift for her.., She couldn't wait until we go back home while I was thinking what am I going to buy for her :)

The Tooth Fairy got her a cute Armani outfit, Hair band and her favorite chocolate "Kinder Joy".

The tooth fairy was night enough to bring a Kinder Joy to Ghali too! :)

A week ago, we headed to the Aqua Park in Casablanca for the very first time! I took a day off work (Monday); it was the best decision ever!! we had a blast! It wasn't as crowded as Weekends and the kids enjoyed every minutes we were there!

Radya and Ghali have been exposed to many different arts and have had so much fun exploring and enjoying Music, Dance, Ballet, Painting, Drawing, Acting/Theater...
It's the end of the year and they are both ready to show off their hard work and Talent!!
Radya's Dance show took place first and was amazing...Later there was a Art Exhibition presented by Ghali's class; it was very nice and interesting!

You find these artworks in every room signed by the artists. There is also very high competition between the 2 artists about the hottest spots in hte house like near my bedroom night stand and the fridge, my makeup drawer...We try our best to be fair to both! :)
Both our artists are very romantic and love nature, that's for sure!

Since the beginning of June we have been lucky to be invited to so many pool parties...some of them were waaaay too fancy! they were any kid's dream party!

Huge inflatables and fun jumping castles just few to mention

Trampolines and pool slides were a hit

Piñatas filled with all sort of very good quality candies and chocolates

It was heaven for Ghali!!!

Did I mention a Show of professional break Dancers and a spectacular Magician Show?

Mascots, princesses and Super heros were all over entertaining the kids

Although we were not prepared for it, we had no swim suits nor towels. Kids didn't really care, first they went in with their clothes on and later when they saw that everybody was with their underwear they did the same thing...:) and guess what? we won swimsuits for kids in one of our Tombola prices!

For the first time in 3 years we went and visited my brother's school campus in Ifran. it was a nice and sunny day. We went with my mom and my sister and brother. we had a great day!

11 years of love celebrated this Weekend

A superb Weekend in warm Marrakech had by all four of us! This Friday was our 11th marriage anniversary. Time surly flies.

The weather was amazingly beautiful! it was 36-38 degrees

We did some site seeing with the kids. They had tons of questions and enjoyed some beautiful natural views

We were staying at a cool place called "les jardins de Zeryab", it's a brand new hotel/aprt in Route Lourika! we loved it! Nice pool, lovely gardens...

It was very calm and peaceful, we enjoyed ourselves to the max!

The next day, we went to the mountains, it was very nice and adventurous, the kids didn't want to leave the pool, so they were in bad mood the whole time. They were complaining of being tired, Hot...

We tried crossing one of the bridges on the river, but the kids were nervous... they cried, we returned half way.

We did some hiking, bought Amlou and Argan oil... it was interesting! Even though we grew up in Morocco, this was our first time visiting this area

These are some pictures of some craft projects that Taib and I did with the kids.

Panda Face: made with tissue paper rolled up and glued one next to another. this project took us much longer than we thought. My brother Simohamed and Taib helped rolling and gluing.

This one also is a school HW/research project about whales (Baleine)

Taib enjoys working with the kids, but only for a short time, after that he gets tired and leaves :)

The butterfly project was a HUGE success!!

Teachers and kids loved it and thought it was brilliant!!

Radya and Ghali earned 2 stickers each for it! and it was rated the "most creative" project. they were sooo proud!

Hands-on home project are soo messy but always fun.

This one was a gift for their 5th birthday. It's a kit to make plaster shells pendents &a jewelery box

It was an interesting project, the waiting time for the plaster to dry in the molds was a bit long...

As always it was a fun morning, kids had a blast! they have been preparing for this event for weeks now. It was superb! They were all dressed up, loud music was on and had the yummy "crepes a la confiture" for snack...Fun Fun, Fun...

Radya's medical procedure

Radya had to have a procedure to remove a small polip in her colon. The Dr. reassured us that it was a very simple procedure and we should not worry about anything. She was very brave and endured the pre-procedure treatment. Thank God everything went well and she is back to normal now.

We had a very busy WE....we couldn't catch our breath..from one birthday to another.

First was Radya's friend., Reda! he had his 5th birthday at a restaurant type McDonald's called "Quick". We were invited at 11 o'clock for a 2 hours party! Kids were running and playing all around...at least his mom didn't have to worry about them breaking her china or creating any material damage :) They ate lunch there and then we sang and cut the cake. It was great!

Radya was very happy as always, she had a butterfly on her cute cheeck

The animators kept them entertained.... they played games, Danced....

They even gave them come drawing and coloring to do!

We headed home for some rest and quiet time before Amira's birthday starts at 3PM. Amira is Ghali's friend for at least 2 years. Her mama gave her a very nice birthday party at their home. They had clowns, mascots, magicien...Kids had a blast!

Five years ago today, you made me a mommy! It was the happiest day of my life! God knew what He was doing when He blessed us with you two at the same time!

Radya, I love our talks about God, hair, clothes and your friends. Your expressive way of talking is just amazing! I love that you want to curl up on the couch under a blanket and watch a movie with papa. You love eating your meals as a family and enjoy good quality food and nice restaurants. I love when you put high heels sandals and act like mommy does. Our trips to the grocery are always fun and interesting. You are such a special kid! I love to watch your mind work. I love to hear what you're thinking about. I never know what you're going to say next, which always keeps me laughing because you usually end up surprising me! :) I hope you never stop telling me what's on your mind. I'm always here to listen to you and give advice when you need it..

Ghali, I love how wise and responsible you are. Your teachers are always proud of you and think that you are a smart and VERY nice boy. I love taking you to school every day, because I know when I pick you up you will drop whatever you are doing and run into my arms with a big smile. I love your artistic talent and how you take pride in your artwork. You are an amazing artist! I love how eager you are to learn new things from spelling to math or even science. You always ask very interesting questions. You love to spell other people's names and count everything you come across with.

I love all the things you both are learning right now. I love your curiosity and the questions and observations you come up with. I love that you have a mind of your own... most of the time. I love the hilarious things you say or do.I love those rare moments when you snuggle with me in my bed and fall asleep, I know those moments are fleeting.

I pray that being Five is as "totally awesome" as you think it will be, my Twins! I love that you're looking forward to this next year as one big adventure! Life is an adventure and you, Radya & Ghali, have made my life so much more fun! I thank God every day that He gave you to me .

I took Radya to her dance class and Ghali to his drawing class at 9AM. we then went shopping for some music CDs and pick up the orders that placed for the party later that afternoon. Lately, our little girl has a lot on her mind. Over the last few days I've started writing down the questions she has been asking. I NEVER want to forget how thoughtful her 4 year old mind was. She's wise beyond her years, God Bless her.
-- She likes to learn other languages and compares terms.
-- The other day she dressed up nicely for Ashura and we all went to a party at my workplace. so everyone was making nice compliments to her and telling me how much she looks like me that she is my little me....once we headed back home, I asked her: where did you get this beauty from ( I was hopping she will say from you, mama!) her answer was GOD made me beautiful!! :o)

She loves to dress up and do her hair everyday before she goes to school. She makes sure that all colors are matching and shoes go well with the outfit!

She is an artist! There is no doubt about that! she loves to sing, dance and acts very well. She melts her daddy's heart when she plays.

She is mommy's helper...seriously, she helps me big time!!! she sets the table perfectly, she folds the laundry and takes it where it belongs. She helps washing dishes and cleans her room. She even helps me clean & cut the vegetables (zucchini, peas). She refuses to clean after Ghali though!!!

no matter what you grow up to be, there is no doubt you will end up entertaining others. Your husband will surely be a lucky one! We love you girly girl. Thanks for the smiles and always keeping me on my toes. You are are one thoughtful little lady. NEVER, EVER change! I love you.

It was a super or even an outstanding party!!! Fun had by all. Great hosts, nice music, delicious and fancy food...Excellent! All we did is eat and dance.

Our friend Cindi sent us a nice package from the states full of goodies. We enjoyed opening every single item and discovering what it is. Among the goodies, there was Elmo colored bath capsules!! Radya & Ghali loved them! they thought it was the best "green or blue" baths they had ever!!!!

Another Homework Project!

This time it was about the Hamster! kids love this animal and enjoyed this project a lot! We all had fun working together and learning from our kids many intresting facts about this cute animal :)

Ghali hasn't had a haircut since the beginning of the summer. It was about time for him to get a trim. Imane (Taib's cousin) wanted to take her son Jad to the hairdresser too! Our kids love each other and they get along pretty well. we decided to take everybody and go to "Empreinte", a very nice and friendly "coiffeur" in our neighborhood.

Après un moment de réflexion Radya m’a dit: « Maman, Est-ce que Dieu a une moustache? » Je ne sais pas chérie et personne ne sait je lui ai répondu. Elle a dit : "Mais moi je sais, il a la peau blanche et un visage normal et n'a pas de moustache. Il est beau et je veux le remercier de m'avoir donné une maman comme toi"!!!

This past Weekend we had nothing really planned, it rained on Sat morning so we stayed home and had lunch. As soon as it cleared up in the afternoon we decided to go out and do something fun. We went to the toys store; the famous "Jouets Club". It was about time to buy new toys and renew our collection. we looked around for an hour..couple disagreements, few tantrums... finally we saw this great tool that I've heard about it for so long and wanted to buy it for them. They had a demo in place and we all tried it and loved it. The price was not very appealing though!!!

IT WAS ONE OF THE BEST TOYS/LEARNING TOOLS THAT WE HAVE EVER BOUGHT THEM!!!!!

Once at home we started using it and we all loved it! It was amazing!

Reading is even MORE fun Now!!!!

Radya spent hours concentrated with her new tool. She loved pointing to the Alphabet letters and playing games

Mama, please buy us more Leap Frog Books, I love reading even more now!

It was the best 1000 DH that we spent that Weekend ! All worth it!

Now I have to order them more books, unfortunately they don't have a big selection here in Morocco. we will probably have to ask our friends to send them to us from France or the US! Papa can buy us some when he goes to his next Business trip too!!!

An intresting Halloween Party

Halloween this year was an interesting one! kids were VERY excited to go to their first Halloween party at my school. We went and bought the costumes and had been talking about it for more than a week. I warned them that it was going to be scary and there will be people dressed up in ghosts, witches, vampires...they said it was OKAY!!!
Friday evening; We dressed up and headed up to the party. we paid our entry tickets...It was dark, music was loud and it was seriously decorated "Scary". A haunted house was in place and spider webs all over... Ghali couldn't help, he held my hands tight and started crying. He wanted to leave right away! Radya wanted to stay, she wanted to eat the candies and was on the line to get a cotton candy when I told her that we were leaving. She was disappointed and started crying!! so what am I suppose to do!!! one is crying wanting to leave and the other is crying because she wanted to stay!!! We left after 10 minutes!

Radya et Ghali devaient faire une recherche sur l'Hérisson a la maison. J’ai essaye de les aider en leur imprimant des photos d'internet. Aussi je les ai aider a apprendre ce qu’il doivent dire durant leurs présentations en class devant leurs camarades et maitresses. Mais la pluspart du boulot c'est eux qui l'ont fait! Ca était très intéressant et surtout FUN et ils ont appris bcp de choses sur L’Hérisson.

Our life lately

It has been a tough start of school year. Both Radya and Ghali are refusing to eat the school canteen and I have had no help (maid) at home for the last 4 months. So basically I have to leave work at 12:15 to pick up the kids and take them home. Then I have to make a quick lunch for them and myself and take them back to school at 1:45. Technically I only have 1 hour for my lunch break, so it’s a race that I never win! Taib “cannot” help, given that he works down town and prefers not to drive lately; so I am finding myself caught up with all this… Am glad that the nature of my work allows me to spend more time with my family. That’s why I love it! I feel like the time I spend with my twins has been far more rewarding than any career triumph I'm likely to ever have -- and the dividends will hopefully pay off long after I'm gone.
Kids started to bring research projects home as homework. Our first one was about “Porky Pine” or “Herrisson” in French. It was an interesting project that all 4 of us enjoyed. We cut some cute Porcupines and we put toothpicks as spines/quills. Both teacher loved the idea and thought it was very creative. Now Ghali’s is becoming the class pet! I love to see them feeling very proud and their teachers applauding them.

Summer 2010

this past summer a fun and a long one. kids enjoyed 6 weeks of uninterrupted vacation! I had to work of the last 2 weeks while they stayed with their papa and their Oumi for another 2 weeks. I came to visit on the weekends. Unlike previous years when we go to Spain for couple weeks; this year we decided to stay in our beach house the whole period . It was FUN! Kids had a blast. It was a bit tiring for me since I had no maid for the whole period and had my in-laws for the last 2 weeks of my vacation but I enjoyed the first 2 weeks that I spent with Taib and the kids ALONE!!

Radya is as girly as she can be. Now that she is on vacation, she spends most of her day dressing up and doing her hair. She goes with me to the beauty center and hair dresser...She LOVES it!

Yesterday when i went for a mani-pedi, she insisted to have one herself. the lady thought it was too cute and proposed to do one for her. Her tiny feet were just cuute (she wears 26!)

This WE was Taib's birthday. Kids have been very excited and talking about what to buy him...I thought that a Weekend gateway will be the best thing I can offer them all. especially that the weather has been very nice and warm lately. Marrakech was our destination! i made reservation in one of the nicest Hotels in town and let the fun begin!

Dinos Projects

We had so much fun working on our Dinosaurs project. we used many colors, shapes and different material to decorate our dinos! R&G took them to their teachers to show them off, they were very proud of them, and put them up the walls in the classrooms and hallways!

Ghali have showed lots of interest into volcanoes, earthquake, Dinos...he also has had many questions about the space and earth...

Taib and I celebrated 10 years of marriage yesterday!

We are thankful and blessed for everything we have had and have been through. We are praying for a long life together with more love, more joy and lots of health!

Why we love Spring?

After lots of weeks of rain, it was a beautiful, sunny day on Saturday! We had to get out and enjoy the sunshine. Friends told us about this place on the beach where they have a very nice and fancy restaurant and It has a huge playground with four large climbing structures, few smaller ones and lots of swings. We arrived kinda early (1pm) so the park/restaurant was relatively empty, the kids climbed on a couple of the larger structures designed for older children ages 5 to 12. They were little monkeys climbing and jumping on everything in sight while Papa and Mama are enjoying some fine food and fresh drinks under some warm sunshine! It was just perfect! the playground was very safe, it has beach sand and all the equipments were almost all brand new and clean. So it was a safe and sound environment for the kids and we could watch them at all them at all time while enjoying ourselves.

We will certainly go back to this place again soon!

They ate very well and both finished their plates (salad, pasta and Pizza). Although they were rushing to go back to play because their friends were waiting for them!

My Princess Radya loves playing dress up, she is fully accessorized! Got high heels sandals, sunglasses, lots of jewelries...... as soon as she sees some sunshine she takes her sunglasses out and put them on, even indoors sometimes! :)
She is very fashionable and loves to be all the time dressed up in a girly cutie way! mini skirts and spaghetti straps are among her favorite outfits. Se hates pony tails and dark colors. Sneakers are her least favorite shoes, she would rather put cute sandals and show her little toes all year long, but she likes boots too!
I wonder how things will be when she is a teenager!!! good luck to me!

Everything needs to match and look perfect! we have a battle every morning before leaving to school! sometimes we agree on the outfit the night before to avoid morning time fight!!

Even though it's raining outside, I will still put my trench coat and my sunglasses. I don't care it's more elegant !

Fun+ Relaxing = Our February Break

Our February break went by sooo fast! I was off for 1 week but the kids had 2 weeks of vacation! we got to enjoy each other and did lots of fun things indoors and outdoors! the weather did not cooperate the first 2 days but then it got nice and sunny!

One of the kids' most favorite thing to do is to ride horses, so that was the fist thing we did when the sun came out!

We don't like poneys anymore, we like to ride big horses!

Pistachio is my favorite flavor, just like Ghali. Sometimes I'm in the mood of bubblegum or strawberry, just like Ghali too!

My little shoppers helped me a" lot" buying grosseries, selecting veggies and fruits...the bill is always 20% more when they are with me :)
The grossery store where we go (Labelvie) they have these little carts for kids, it's so much fun and I don't have to deal with putting them up in my cart every minute and taking them down...
Sometimes they get too naughty running around with their little carts and hiting people!

We also watched lots of TV and took long naps during the rainy days ! how nice!

Some of the outdoors activities we enjoyed over our break was biking! We are lucky to have such a beautiful , well maintained garden that we get to enjoy whenever the weather is nice

Our sidewalk was all "nice & colorful" with our chalk art! I'm sure some neighbors were not too happy but thank God the rain washed out everything only minutes after

We also had many playdates with our neighbors, friends and even classmates (Sophia & Jad, Mehdi, Kenza, Amine and Mustapha)

I had bought a coconut fruit to show it to the kids; they have been very curious about itwhen they see it in the jungle movies! When sophia visited us we got our Hummer out and tried to open it.
(Dodo is present again on both pictures!!! he gets more and more attached to it! once at home he must have it with him)

It was waaay too hard for the kids to open it by themselves, some adult help was needed!
unfortunately it didn't taste good, it was too dry and had no juice inside! (bad impression)

We met my parents in Rabat for the day, we had lunch at the mall and played on the jumping castles. All had a blast!

Le Carnaval

Le carnaval a été l’occasion pour les enfants des classes maternelle de Carré Junior d’exhiber toutes sortes de chapeaux et masques très originaux. Fées, sorcières et bien sur plein de petites princesses. Chapeaux de clown, Batman ou Spiderman. Fleurs ou coccinelles...Ils y avaient de tout!

Maman aussi a participée au carnaval! J'ai aidée les maitresses a décorer les classes et les couloirs !

Last week we went to visit a new sport outlet which just opened in Casa. It was a very nice, huge and very well equipped. We needed something like that in casa!

While in there, kids wanted to buy everything from a soccer field to tennis rackets..they even wanted a fishing stick! Taib and I decided we should get them a Rollerblade set each even though they are a bit young for it (we think)!

First new "real" watch for Ghali

Ghali is planing to dress up like Diego for the Carnival tomorrow. As always he does not want to be a Pirate nor Spider man he just wants to be himself with very little changes. In order for him to look like Diego we had to buy a sleeveless vest, Shorts, a real watch, a real set of binoculars and a hat. I will post pictures of them dressed up for the carnival tomorrow but i just thought the watch looked too cute on him that i took couple of photos for him.

Instead of buying a cheap watch for the day I thought I would buy him a real Flik Flak watch since he has expressed big intrest to learn time. Good investement!

It looked sooooo cute on his tiny left hand, but he cannot keep it on for a long time. he takes it off and put on all day long. like a game ! I'm just worried he will loose it!

Her Mama did a great job throwing her a Dora Party for the occasion. She hired a clown and Music DJ to entertain the crowd. We had a blast!

One Busy & full O'Fun Weekend!

Our Weekend was a really busy one! We saw lots of our friends, partied, hanged out, ate and had so much fun. Kids were present most of the time.
Saturday morning we went shopping for a gift for Alya (Hicham & mounia) it was her 1st birthday! Afternoon we went to the party. Kids behaved pretty well! few minor incidents, but you cannot avoid that!

Later that night we had our friends Faycal, Zineb, Ghita and Khalid brought some Chinese take out and Pizzas and we all had dinner at our place; because Taib was sick and could not go out!
Sunday we went to Mazagan Beach Resort at El Jadida with our friends from VA Hassan and Aziza and their daughter Sofia. We had a blast! Sofia is about 8 months older than R&G but they got along very well! They played on the beach, ran all over the gardens and around the fountains and pools...The jumping castle was so much fun too!

Radya at Four years old

Energetic and imaginative best describe Radya. Often impatient and silly, she discovered humor and spends a great deal of time being silly and telling us jokes and silly stories that happened in school or to her friends (Micheal Jackson dance for example).

She often confuses reality with her wild princesses and love stories.When you ask her what do you want to be, Radya, when you grow up? Her answer will be: "A bride!"
Soon after her 4th birthday, she came to me and told me: Mama, Now I'm Four, next year I will be Five and soon I will be 10 and I can get married! right? She was damn serious!

She feels good about the things she can do, shows self-confidence, and always willing to try new adventures. Sometimes she is very Bossy! She likes to control the crowd and act like the mother or the teacher giving instructions!
Right now there is lots of competition between her and Ghali and I'm afraid they fight a lot! Sometimes she is jealous when we have a friend over and she is not the center of attention, especially if the friend is a girl!

On the other hand she is very loving and emotional! She is expressive and she loves to cuddle with her Papa and caresses his face. When he is upset she is the first one to go to him and calm him down.

She is upset because she had her sweater wet in the swimming pool. Since the sleeves are removable, she spent the whole time putting them on and taking them off...sometimes one on and the other off! :)

Adventurous since she was very little! Always on the go and willing to take risks!

The Chipmunks mania

Ever since we saw the chipmunks movie over the holidays, the newest household favorite around here has been "Alvin and the Chipmunks". We saw the second Chipmunks movie at the theater FIRST and then we bought the previous one on DVD and watched it at home. Kids absolutely loved it! Radya seemed to be the biggest fan! She giggles non stop every time she sees it! Her favorite part of the movie is the very last one when Dave tries to turn the lights off so the Chipmunks and the Chipettes sleep and Alvin turns it back on and says that he was not tired. So it goes on and off, on and off...until Dave screams ALVIIIIIIIIIIIN!
Now we kinda have to act like'em every night until I say RADYYYAAAA or GHAAAAAli!!! :)

The Funny thing is that the Animal Of the Month at the kids pre-school is" Squirrel" so Radya got to tell the story of her favorite movie to her classmates and teachers. She was very proud!
But only few days later the school organized a field trip to go watch a movie! and guess what? it was "Alvin and the Chipmuck" AGAIN!!!!!! I thought about not sending them, but when i saw how excited they were...I gave them the money and signed the permission slip!

To add to the fun MacDonald Happy meal's theme has been "Alvin & The Chipmuncks" the kids got a cute stutes of The Chipmuncks (Radya got Britney and Ghali got Theodore)

Kids received many fun and interesting presents for their birthday! we are trying to be organized and open/enjoy one at the time. The mini sand box, the spider man smart computer, DORA smart board, alphabet stamps, lots of play dough and cutters set...
